A UNESCO World Heritage Site containing the only surviving pre-Mughal Islamic city in India. Sultan Mahmud Begada's capital (1484–1535) contains 114 monuments — mosques fusing Hindu & Islamic design — surrounding Pavagadh hill's Kalika Mata Temple, holy to Hindus and Muslims alike.
